Jon Jones Biography

There is no fighter in UFC history that can match the accomplishments and natural ability of Jon Jones. After winning a JUCO National Championship while wrestling at Iowa Central Community College and posting an undefeated amateur record of 6-0 he caught the attention of the UFC and made his debut in 2008 at age 21. Over a three-year period he racked up a 12-1 record and got his shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in 2011, winning with a submission and becoming the youngest champion in UFC history. Since that time he has successfully defended his title seven consecutive times and tallied the most wins, finishes and significant strikes in UFC history in the Light Middleweight class. His numerous accolades include winning the 2010 Breakthrough Fighter of the Year and Fighter of the Year in three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013 at the World MMA Awards. Jones is a black-belt in Gaidojutsu and blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and currently is a member of Jackson’s MMA. Currently he is ranked as the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
