Legendary Broadcaster Vin Scully Appears at Distinguished Speaker Series on Saturday

Many throughout southern California almost feel as if they know Los Angeles Dodgers broadcasting legend Vin Scully. He will share a little more about his iconic career in an upcoming appearance at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.

Scully is taking part in "An Evening with Vin Scully" on Saturday which is part of the Distinguished Speaker Series. Ticket prices start at $40 and range up to $250 for a VIP package.

Prior to speaking, Scully will also participate in a question and answer session. The VIP ticket also includes a pre-party and meet and greet.

Scully spent 67 years calling Dodgers games, beginning with the franchise when they were in Brooklyn in 1950. He set a still-standing record in 1953 for being the youngest person to ever call a World Series game at the age of 25.

Scully also had a national platform throughout his career, broadcasting a variety of sports for CBS and NBC. Outside of baseball, he was known for his work calling NFL games, tennis and golf.

In 1982, Scully received the Ford C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom last year.
