Willie Anderson Biography

Willie Anderson is a retired American offensive tackle best known for his 12-season tenure with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he established himself as one of the premier right tackles in NFL history. A first-round pick in the 1996 NFL Draft out of Auburn University, Anderson earned four consecutive Pro Bowl selections (2003–2006) and three First-Team All-Pro honors (2004–2006). Remarkably, he allowed only 16 sacks over his 13-year career, including a streak from 1999 to 2001 during which he did not surrender a single sack. The Bengals were able to set many rushing records thanks to Anderson's run-blocking abilities and pass-protection skills. He retired in 2008 with the Baltimore Ravens, and in 2022, he was given the Bengals' Ring of Honor. Anderson has been a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Once he retired, he created the Willie Anderson Lineman Academy, where he is very hands-on with training and mentoring players at the high school level who have dreams of playing at the next level.
