Shaquem Griffin is the first-ever, one-handed former NFL linebacker, entrepreneur, author, and highly sought-after motivational speaker whose story of perseverance and resilience has inspired millions around the world. Born with amniotic band syndrome, Griffin had his left hand amputated at just four years old. He attended the University of Central Florida, earning the 2016 AAC Defensive Player of the Year and 2018 Peach Bowl MVP accolades. He was the inaugural 2018 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Award.

 

Despite this challenge, he defied all odds and rose to compete at the highest level of football, becoming a symbol of determination, faith, and grit. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, Griffin played three seasons in Seattle before joining the Miami Dolphins for his final NFL season. He also earned the 2018 NFL Game Changer Award. Since retiring in 2022, Griffin has built a thriving career as a motivational and inspirational speaker, sharing his journey with Division I Power 4 football programs, professional teams, Fortune 500 companies, universities, family office forums, and commencement audiences worldwide.

 

He continues to be a game-changer on and off the field, serving as an NFL Legends Community Coordinator for the Southeast, while also contributing as a Big 12 Alumni Council Member and advisor at a venture capital firm alongside his twin brother, Shaquill. He also lends his leadership and creativity as an ambassador and advisor for several startups, including SmartARM, GMTM, NILENT, ARMA Glove, and Kickback.
