Oleksandr Usyk Biography

Oleksandr Usyk was born on January 17, 1987, in Simferopol, Crimea. He is an undefeated Ukrainian heavyweight boxing champion and Olympic gold medalist. He rose through the cruiserweight division to claim the undisputed title and sweep the World Boxing Super Series before moving to heavyweight in 2019 to defeat Anthony Joshua for the unified championship in 2021 and again in 2022.

He made history in May 2024 by defeating Tyson Fury via split decision in Riyadh to become the first undisputed four-belt heavyweight champion since 2000. His rematch in December reinforced that status and solidified his legacy.
