Nolan McLean is a professional MLB pitcher for the New York Mets. A two-sport star at Garner Magnet High School, he excelled in baseball and football, later focusing on baseball at Oklahoma State University. As a two-way player, he batted .263 as a freshman and .285 with 19 home runs as a sophomore, while pitching with a mid-90s fastball. Drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in 2022 (third round) but unsigned due to an MRI concern, he was selected by the Mets in 2023 (third round, 91st pick). Transitioning to a full-time pitcher in 2024, McLean debuted in the MLB on August 16, 2025, striking out eight in 5⅓ scoreless innings against the Mariners. With a 3-0 record, 0.89 ERA, and 21 strikeouts in his first three starts, he's the first Mets pitcher to win his initial three MLB starts.
