Matthew Golden Biography

Matthew Golden is an American professional football wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. A native of Houston, he recorded 167 receptions for 3,242 yards and 32 touchdowns, earning four-star recruit status as a high school player. He would go to play for the hometown University of Houston Cougars before transferring to the University of Texas.

At Houston, he set the freshman record for touchdown receptions with seven and had 38 catches for 584 yards in 2022. At Texas, he led the Longhorns in 2024 with 58 receptions for 987 yards and nine touchdowns, shining in the College Football Playoff with 19 catches for 411 yards, including a clutch 28-yard touchdown against Arizona State in the Peach Bowl. 

He was selected 23rd overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft in front of a raucous draft weekend crowd in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
