Marshall Faulk Biography

Marshall Faulk is one of the most dynamic and versatile running backs in NFL history. Faulk is the only player to ever total over 12,000 rushing yards and 6,000 receiving yards. He was a staple for the Indianapolis Colts early in his career before turning in a truly historic run with the St. Louis Rams. 

While with the Rams, Faulk was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year three consecutive seasons from 1999-2001. He capped that first season as a Super Bowl Champion and won NFL MVP the following year. 

The Colts originally selected Faulk with the second overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft and he turned in four 1,000-yard rushing campaigns in five seasons. He played college football at San Diego State and finished as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy in 1992. 

Faulk is also a legend in his hometown of New Orleans, where he was a two-way football standout and track star in high school. He is currently mentoring the next generation as a running backs coach at Colorado. 

Faulk's illustrious life in football has garnered him induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame. His #28 is retired by the Rams and at San Diego State.
