Marcus Camby Biography

Marcus Camby is an American former professional basketball player who played 17 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the UMass Minutemen and he won the John R. Wooden Award and the Naismith College Player of the Year Award during the 1995–96 season. His number 21 was retired by UMass. In the NBA, he was named Defensive Player of the Year during the 2006–07 season, leading the league in blocked shots per game. Camby is also a four-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team and is 12th on the NBA's all-time career blocks list.
