Maja Stark Biography

Maja Stark is a Swedish professional golfer who turned professional in August 2021 and has since become a prominent figure on the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA Tour. Stark won her first major title at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open with a two-stroke victory, becoming the first Swedish winner since Annika Sörenstam in 2006. She has secured six LET titles, including the 2022 Women's NSW Open, 2022 Amundi German Masters, and 2023 Lalla Meryem Cup, and one LPGA Tour title at the 2022 ISPS Handa World Invitational, which earned her LPGA Tour membership.

As an amateur, Stark stood out at Oklahoma State University (2019–2021), winning the Hurricane Invitational as a freshman, earning Big 12 Player of the Year honors in 2020–21, and setting a school-record stroke average of 70.48. She was ranked No. 6 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in 2020 and finished tied for 13th at the 2020 U.S. Women's Open as an amateur. She also represented Sweden in the European Girls' Team Championship (silver in 2016, gold in 2017) and the European Ladies' Team Championship (gold in 2018–2020).
