Kari Traa Biography

Kari Traa is a decorated downhill freestyle skier. In 1998 she burst onto the scene with a bronze medal performance at the Nagano Winter Olympic games. The following year she won silver medals in the Moguls and Dual Moguls events at the Meiringen-Hasilberg World Championships, which set the stage for two gold medals at the 2001 World Championships in Whistler. In 2002 she returned to Olympic action and captured gold in the Moguls event at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. She followed that up with two more World Championships in 2003 and silver medal performance at the 2005 World Championship in Dual Moguls. Traa wrapped up her Olympic career with a silver medal in Moguls in at the 2006 Turin Olympic games. Outside of competition she is known for her beauty, grace and personality, and has served as a valuable ambassador for several top-notch brands while also making appearances in film, television and commercial advertisements.
