Jon Gruden Biography

Jon Gruden is one of the most accomplished and charismatic football coaches in NFL history. He has shown his versatility off the field as well, serving as the lead analyst for Monday Night Football and in his current role as a personality for Barstool Sports. 

In 1998, Gruden began his ascent in the coaching ranks when he was named head coach of the Oakland Raiders. Two 8-8 seasons were followed by back-to-back playoff appearances. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded for Gruden in 2002 and their investment immediately paid off. He led a talented Bucs team to victory in Super Bowl XXXVIII in his first season.  

Gruden made two other playoff appearances in the next six years in Tampa. From 2009-17, he was with ESPN on Monday Night Football, working the network's NFL Draft coverage and hosting the wildly popular Gruden's QB Camp. Gruden returned to the sidelines with the Raiders from 2018-21, helping usher the franchise into its move to Las Vegas.
