Jan Vesely Biography

Jan Veseley is a Czech born pro basketball player with a seven-foot 240 pound frame that is fit to dominate down low in the paint. After leading Partizan to three consecutive Adriatic League Championships from 2009 to 2011 and being named the 2010 FIBA European Young Player of the year in 2010 he was selected in the 1st round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. During three seasons with the Wizards and one season with the Denver Nuggets in 2014 he was a solid down low player with excellent rebounding and shot blocking ability. In 2014 he returned to the international stage with Fenerbahce Ulker in the Turkish Basketball League. As a big man with the versatility to both shoot from the outside and defend, he makes for a tough match up by anyone’s standards. At age 24 he is one of the basketball world’s brightest young stars, and looks to continue his success on the international level while also looking to come back to the NBA in the near future
