Jahmal Harvey represents an American featherweight boxer who comes from Oxon Hill Maryland and has quickly moved up through amateur boxing ranks. Jahmal Harvey entered the world of boxing at age 13 to develop his football strength. The sport introduction by his football coach Darrell Davis led Harvey to discover his boxing abilities. Under Coach Davis' guidance at SwiftNation Boxing in Upper Marlboro Maryland Harvey trains as a boxer.

At the 2021 World Championships Harvey achieved his breakthrough by winning gold in the 57kg featherweight division at age 18 thus becoming the first American male world champion since 2007. His success at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago led him to win gold and secure his Paris 2024 Olympics spot.
