Plant High School in Tampa where he received four-year letters for his athletic performance. During his senior year he maintained a .371 batting average while pitching with a 2.44 ERA to become a Florida Athletic Coaches Association All-American.

The University of Florida welcomed Caglianone to play first base and pitch left-handed after his high school career. The Gators reached the NCAA Division I Men's College World Series Semifinals during his 2024 season when he became the first player in school history to hit 35 home runs in a single year. His outstanding performance earned him First Team All-American honors unanimously and the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year award.
