Ernie Clement is a versatile MLB utility infielder for the Toronto Blue Jays, celebrated for his elite defense and setting a postseason record for hits. He excelled at the University of Virginia, where he hit .464 with school records in doubles (34) and steals (38), earning two-time All-ACC honors and helping win the 2015 College World Series. Drafted 132nd overall by the Cleveland Indians in 2017, he debuted in 2021 after minor-league stints, slashing .200/.264/.221 in 64 games for Cleveland (2022). Traded to Toronto in November 2023, Clement broke out in 2025, earning Gold Glove finalist nods at third base and utility. In the playoffs, he set an MLB postseason hits record (30) in the Blue Jays' World Series run, including three in Game 7.
