Drake Baldwin Biography

Drake Baldwin is a star catcher for the Atlanta Braves. A 6'1", 225-pound left-handed hitter and right-handed thrower, he excelled at Madison West High School in baseball and ice hockey, leading the state with 43 goals as a junior in 2018. At Missouri State University, Baldwin batted .291 with four home runs and 24 RBI over 60 games in 2021 after a shortened freshman season. Drafted in the third round (96th overall) by Atlanta in 2022, he debuted professionally with High-A Rome, slashing .270/.384/.460 with 16 homers and 61 RBI across three levels in 2023. Promoted to the majors in 2025, Baldwin hit .274 with an .810 OPS and 126 OPS+ in 124 games, primarily as backup to Sean Murphy, earning NL Rookie of the Year finalist honors and an MLBPA award.
