Ciryl Gane Biography

Ciryl Gane is a top French UFC heavyweight contender, ranked #2 in November 2023. Hailing from La Roche-sur-Yon, France, he is nicknamed "Bon Gamin," meaning "The Good Kid." Gane’s journey from furniture salesman to MMA star is remarkable. With Guadeloupean roots through his father, Romain, a former soccer player, Gane initially played soccer and basketball before discovering Muay Thai in 2014. He went 13-0 in professional Muay Thai, securing the AFMT National Title in 2016 and 2017.

Transitioning to MMA in 2018 under coach Fernand Lopez at MMA Factory in Paris, Gane debuted in TKO Major League MMA, capturing and defending the TKO Heavyweight Championship. Joining the UFC in 2019, he stormed to a 7-0 record with standout wins over Junior dos Santos, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Alexander Volkov, and Derrick Lewis, earning the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship in 2021 with a TKO over Lewis. 

Known for elite striking and fluid footwork, Gane’s 13-2-0 record includes 6 KOs and three submissions, making him a perennial title contender.
