Calvin Booth Biography

Calvin Booth is an American basketball executive and former NBA player.  Booth played 10 NBA seasons across seven teams, including the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, and Seattle SuperSonics. A standout at Penn State, he earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors as a junior and was drafted 35th overall by the Washington Wizards in 1999.  After retiring in 2010, he moved into front-office roles, starting as a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans and Minnesota Timberwolves. Joining the Denver Nuggets as assistant GM in 2017, he became GM in 2020 and President of Basketball Operations in 2022. Booth’s strategic trades, like acquiring Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, helped secure the Nuggets’ 2023 NBA title. He was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025.
