World Series-Winning Manager Ozzie Guillen Makes Chicago Appearances Saturday

It has been five years since Ozzie Guillen last managed the White Sox, but he remains a popular figure among Chicago baseball fans.  Capitalizing off that notoreity, he will make a series of appearances on Saturday in the Windy City. 

Guillen is partnering with Miller Light on the events.  From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., he will be at the Jewel-Osco store in Bensenville.  

Then, from 3-5 p.m., Guillen will be at Liquorama In Chicago.  There will be opportunities at both spots to meet the popular manager and get photos. 

Guillen reached the pinnacle of his managerial career in 2005 when he led the White Sox to a World Series championship.  He became the first Latino manager to win a title and was also named American League Manager of the Year that season. 

In eight seasons with Chicago, Guillen went 678-617 with a sterling 12-4 postseason record.  He spent a year as manager of the Miami Marlins as well. 

Guillen is also beloved on the South Side for his 13-year White Sox playing career.  He was a three-time All-Star, was AL Rookie of the Year in 1985 and won a Gold Glove in 1990.
