University of Wyoming Names Former NFL Long Snapper Kendall Gammon Commencement Speaker

The University of Wyoming has released a list of details for their upcoming commencement week activities. They will hand out degrees to 1,487 undergraduate students, 422 graduate students, 60 students from the College of Law and 40 graduates from the School of Pharmacy. 

Former NFL long snapper Kendall Gammon is speaking at the UW-Casper graduation. It is the first ceremony taking place next Thursday at 4 p.m. 

Commencement proceedings on the main Laramie campus take place Friday and Saturday. With Gammon's diverse life experience, the graduates of UW-Casper should get some unique insight. 

Gammon won a Division II National Championship in college at Pittsburg State. He was then drafted in 1992 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. 

Gammon became a successful long snapper during four seasons with the Steelers and a subsequent four years with the New Orleans Saints. In 2000, he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs and he became the first dedicated long snapper elected to the Pro Bowl in 2004. 

Since retiring, Gammon has become a member of the Chiefs radio broadcast team. He is also a successful motivational speaker, author of two books and special assistant to the president at Pittsburg State.
