University of Georgia Names Atlanta Braves Analyst Jeff Francoeur Speaker for 1st Pitch Banquet

As a native Atlantan and former Braves phenom, Jeff Francoeur is highly regarded throughout the state. He will share some fun stories in his career as the speaker at the University of Georgia 1st Pitch Dinner. 

The event will be held on February 9th beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Classic Center in Athens. Individual tickets are $100 per person and tables of ten are $850. 

Former players can purchase tickets for $75 and tables for $750. In addition to interacting with Francoeur, attendees will get the opportunity to mingle with the 2018 Bulldogs team. 

Francoeur was originally selected by Atlanta in the first round of the 2002 MLB Draft. He was a top prospect who was called up by the franchise in 2005 and hit .360 in his first 37 games. 

Francoeur also made the cover of Sports Illustrated and finished the season with a .300 average, 19 home runs, and 44 RBI in 67 games. He went on to post 100 RBI campaigns in back-to-back campaigns and won a Gold Glove in 2007. 

Francoeur went on to play for seven other teams before retiring this spring. He is currently a part-time commentator for the Braves on Fox Sports South.
