Two-Time World Cup Champion Julie Foudy Keynotes SheBelieves Summit

The United States women's soccer team have served as a point of inspiration for women everywhere. As leaders in women's empowerment, the U.S. National Soccer Federation hosted the first annual SheBelieves Summit on March 3.

One of the all-time great American players, Julie Foudy, served as the keynote speaker at the Nike headquarters in New York City. She talked about stepping out of one's comfort zone and embracing leadership. 

There were several speakers throughout the day from inside and outside of the sports world, including WNBA star Elena Delle Donne. Topics addressed included grabbing opportunity and women inspiring women. 

Foudy was a two-time World Cup champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She had 245 caps for the national team from 1987-2004. 

Foudy served as Team USA's co-captain from 1991-2000 and captain from 2000-04. She was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame with her longtime U.S. teammate, Mia Hamm, in 2007. 

Foudy has continued to make an impact as the co-founder of the Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy. She is an accomplished author, documentary producer and ESPN analyst.
