Two-Time Super Bowl Champion Darrin Smith Speaks at Big Brothers Big Sisters Event

Darrin Smith was one of the unsung Dallas Cowboys stars from their run in the 1990s. On Friday, he will be speaking in front of what is sure to be a crowd packed with Cowboys fans in Amarillo, Texas.

Smith is the guest speaker for the Mentoring Matters luncheon for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Panhandle. The event is being held in downtown Amarillo at the Embassy Suites.

Fans are able to get photos with Smith beginning at 11:30 a.m. for $25. Individual tickets to attend the luncheon are $100 and tables are $1000.

Smith first starred at the University of Miami, where he won two national championships. While with the Hurricanes, he was a two-time All-American and the 1991 Big East co-Defensive Player of the Year.

The Cowboys selected Smith in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft and he went on to garner All-Rookie Team honors. He also had two-100 tackle seasons in Dallas and won two Super Bowls.

Smith finished his football career playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints. He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
