Two-Time NHL All-Star Wade Redden Keynotes Sports Hall of Fame Induction Next Month

As a former two-time NHL All-Star, Wade Redden is one of the area's most notable sports stars. Next month, he will be in town to serve as the keynote speaker at the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

The event takes place on November 16th at the Coast Capri Hotel. Tickets for those who wish to attend can be purchased at the Okanagan Heritage Museum.

Redden is sure to talk about Kelowna's proud sports tradition. There are four different individuals and one team that make up the hall's Class of 2017.

Redden was originally the second overall pick in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He came up to the Ottawa Senators a year later and spent his first 11 seasons with the franchise.

Redden ended up being a two-time NHL All-Star and served as Senators captain for nine years. He was tied for the league lead in plus-minus in 1996.

Redden went on to play for the New York Rangers, St. Louis Blues and Boston Bruins before retiring from hockey in 2013. He is currently the assistant director of player development for the Nashville Predators.
