Super Bowl Champion Trent Dilfer Speaks at Las Vegas Bowl Kickoff Luncheon

The Las Vegas Bowl Kickoff Luncheon could not have been any sweeter for former Super Bowl champion Trent Dilfer. He got to be the guest speaker with players from his former school, Fresno State, in attendance.

Dilfer spoke from the heart, delivering a motivational and inspirational presentation that spoke directly to the Bulldogs and the Arizona State players that were assembled. He wanted to make sure the players who were playing in their final game appreciated the experience.

"One, enjoy it. Enjoy the week, enjoy the game, the last snap of the game, taking your cleats off for the last time. If you don't enjoy them you will look back and wish you had. Also, learn from it," said Dilfer. "Learn from your journey because life has a bunch of them and you can learn a lot from this football journey that can catapult you into life and allow you to have a lot more success than you would have otherwise."

Those Fresno State seniors Dilfer addressed also got to go out winners alma mater. They defeated the Sun Devils 30-21 to cap a 12-2 season.

At Fresno, Dilfer led the team to a WAC championship in three straight seasons. As a junior, he was the country's leader in pass efficiency and won the Sammy Baugh Trophy.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went on to select Dilfer with the sixth overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft. He had an up and down tenure with the Bucs, but did get selected to the Pro Bowl in 1997.

Dilfer went on to win a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2000. He retired in 2008, served as an analyst with ESPN until 2017 and currently is the head coach at the prestigious high school quarterback camp, Elite 11.
