Top-Ranked Golfer Jason Day Signs Shoe and Apparel Endorsement Deal with Nike

With another PGA Tour season about to get rolling, big news is breaking on the golf endorsement front. World number one player Jason Day has agreed to a new deal with Nike Golf.

As part of the pact, Day will be outfitted in Nike apparel, footwear, headwear and gloves. The agreement goes into action this week with the Tournament of Champions taking place in Kapalua, Hawaii.

Nike's move to drop their golf equipment business made this partnership with Day a possibility. He re-signed with TaylorMade to play their clubs and ball in September.

Day won three times in 2016, including at the prestigious Players Championship. He had his true breakout campaign in 2015 when he one four times in his final seven starts of the season.

That run included Day's first major win at the PGA Championship and captipulted him to the top spot in the World Golf Rankings for the first time. He set a major championship record at Whistling Straits by finishing at 20-under-par.

Since turning pro in 2006, Day has won ten PGA Tour titles. He captured his first victory in 2010 at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, becoming the youngest Australian to ever win on tour.
