Tim Brown Heads Back to Notre Dame to Speak at StaND Against Hate Week

One of Notre Dame’s finest is coming back to speak on campus this week.  Hall of Fame wide receiver Tim Brown is the keynote speaker for StaND Against Hate Week.

Brown will be on hand Tuesday starting at 7:00 p.m. in DeBartolo Hall 141.  Some of the topics he will address include faith, masculinity, and racism.

Brown will also sign copies of his book, “The Making of a Man”, following the speech.  His keynote is just one of several events during the StaND Against Hate Week that will shine awareness on the hatred occurring on campus.

In 1987, Brown won the Heisman Trophy and is the last pure wide receiver to do so.  When he left South Bend, he held 19 school records including his mark of 5,024 all-purpose yards.

There was no letdown when Brown reached the pros.  He became one of the all-time greats at the position, making nine Pro Bowl squads and finishing with some of the loftiest stats in NFL history.

At the time of his retirement, his 14,934 receiving yards ranked second in NFL history.  He is also one of the greatest Raiders of all-time, having played all but one of his seasons with the franchise.
