Strikeout King Nolan Ryan Speaks at Laura W. Bush Institute Luncheon in April

Strikeout king Nolan Ryan is an icon in the state of Texas. This April, he will make a visit to San Angelo to speak at the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health annual luncheon. 

The festivities are scheduled for April 4th at 11 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center. Individual tickets go on sale March 1st for $100 and sponsorship packages range in price from $1,000-$25,000. 

The Institute was established in 2007 and operates on five campuses as part of Texas Tech University's Health Sciences Center. Ryan should have an impactful presentation prepared. 

Ryan had a record 27-year career in Major League Baseball. He won 324 games and compiled a record 5,714 strikeouts while pitching for four different teams. 

Ryan was an eight-time All-Star and led baseball in strikeouts 11 times. He threw a record seven no-hitters and is tied for the big league record with 12 one-hitters. 

Ryan has his jersey retired by the Los Angeles Angels, Houston Astros and Texas Rangers. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.
