Sports Columnist Bill Plaschke Keynotes Pasadena Quarterbacks Luncheon

Bill Plaschke is one of the most well-known names in sports in Los Angeles. Last Friday, he entertained the audience at the Pasadena Quarterbacks Club. 

The luncheon was held at the University Club in Old Town Pasadena. Doors opened at 11:00 a.m., lunch was served at 11:30 and the program featuring Plaschke began at 12:00 p.m. 

Individual tickets were $25 for members and $35 for guests. In addition to Plaschke, Pasadena Poly football coach Chris Schmoke also spoke. 

Plaschke has been a columnist for The Los Angeles Times since 1996 and worked at the paper since 1987. He has been the Associated Press national columnist of the year six times. 

Plaschke is best known to the rest of the country as a panelist on the ESPN show, Around the Horn. He is the author of five books. 

Plaschke also has a role in the HBO series, Luck, and made a cameo in the film, Ali. He has bee named Man of the Year by the Los Angeles Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
