The NBA Summer League brings the basketball world together for a week in Las Vegas.  One of the more impactful events of that time is the Sports Business Classroom.

The SBC runs July 8-13 and gives attendees the opportunity to learn from some of the top minds in the sport on a variety of issues.  One of this year's speakers is Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle.

Carlisie has been an NBA head coach for 11 seasons and has spent the last six years at the helm of the Mavericks.  Overall, he holds a 520-366 record and is one of just 28 coaches in league history to cross the 500-win barrier. 

In 2011, Carlisle led Dallas to their first NBA championship in franchise history.  He has also been the head coach of the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, winning the NBA Coach of the Year award with the Pistons in 2002. 

Carlisle spent five NBA seasons as a player.  He won a title and played in two other NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics.
