Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver Keynotes Souderton Area High School Celebration

As the Chairman of Special Olympics, Tim Shriver impacts millions of individual with special needs. One of the programs created by the organization is Unified Sports. 

Shriver will be on hand November 30th to honor Souderton Area High School at an all-school pep rally as the first in Pennsylvania to be a National Banner Unified Champion School. He will give a keynote speech to praise the inclusive environment at the school.

SAHS has a Unified Sports track and field and bocce team. Unified Sports teams put typical and special needs athletes together on the field. 

Special Olympics provides an opportunity for over 5.6 million athletes in 172 countries. As Chairman of the Board, Shriver oversees a mission that was started by his mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver. 

Shriver is also a respected educator, who spent 14 years teaching in the Connecticut public school system. He is the co-founder and chairman of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning. 

Shriver is the producer of four films and wrote the bestselling book "Fully Alive - Discovering What Matters Most." He is on the Council on Foreign Relations and president of the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation.
