Soccer Legend Diego Maradona Speaks at Harvard This Spring

Diego Maradona is unquestionably a global soccer icon. This spring, he will touch down in the United States for the first time in 22 years for a special speaking engagement. 

Maradona has been invited to Harvard University to serve as a guest speaker. He will give a presentation in the Harvard class titled, "The Global Game: Soccer, Politics and Popular Culture. 

The news was officially announced on Maradona's Facebook page last week. It should be a great opportunity for Harvard students to hear first-hand from one of the most influential people in the history of his sport. 

Maradona starred in four FIFA World Cups for Argentina. In 1986, he captained the squad to World Cup victory and won the tournament's Golden Ball. 

Overall, Maradona was capped 91 times for his country and scored 34 goals in international play. As a club player, he set the international transfer fee record twice. 

Maradona is best known for his time playing with Barcelona and Napoli. He was named the Co-FIFA Player of the 20th Century with Pele
