SEC Network Personality Laura Rutledge Speaks at Northwest Arkansas Touchdown Club

Laura Rutledge has become a staple with the SEC Network. With that high-profile spot on the ESPN-owned network has come opportunities to speak to passionate football fans across the South. 

On Tuesday, Rutledge was the special guest at the Northwest Arkansas Touchdown Club's weekly meeting. The event was held at noon at Mermaids Restaurant in Fayetteville and moved up a day from the normal Wednesday time slot. 

Rutledge told a funny story about participating in the Arkansas spring game in 2015. She also talked about her background in broadcasting and the current state of the Razorbacks

Rutledge has been a reporter with the SEC Network since its inception in 2014. She is also the host of their Saturday pregame show, SEC Nation and is a sideline reporter for ESPN's Thursday night college football broadcast. 

Rutledge came to ESPN from CNN, where she was a sports anchor for New Day and Early Start. She spent time as a Fox Sports reporter for the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres. 

Rutledge is a graduate of the University of Florida and recipient of the school's Red Barber Award for Excellence in Journalism. She was Miss Florida 2012.
