SEC Network Host Dari Nowkhah Makes Appearance at Charlotte SEC Alumni Bash Saturday

One of the most popular personalities on the SEC Network is making an appearance at an event that caters to fans of the conference this weekend.  Host Dari Nowkhah will be on hand in Charlotte Saturday for the SEC Alumni Bash.

The event runs from 2-7 p.m. in the parking lot of the bar complex that houses Slate, All American Pub and Oak Room.  Those who attend will enjoy tailgating with other SEC fans, games, food trucks and much more.

Admission is free, but there is a raffle that benefits Nowkhah's charity Hayden's Hope. The non-profit honors his son who died as an infant after not receiving a vital heart transplant in time.

The charity provides the great service of support for families who await organ transplants for their infants and children.  While Nowkhah is a highly-visible ESPN personality, this is by far his greatest mission.

In television, Nowkhah serves as the lead anchor for the SEC Network and calls some men's basketball and baseball games for the network.  He is also the host of the ESPN Radio weekend program "Dari & Mel".

Nowkhah has been with ESPN in some capacity since 2004.  He started out as an ESPNEWS anchor and became ESPNU's main host in 2011.

Prior to ESPN, Nowkhah worked in local TV In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lincoln, Nebraska and Kalispell, Montana.  He is a Univerisity of Oklahoma graduate who was recognized in 2013 as the Young Professional of the Year by the school's Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.
