Seattle Seahawks corner Richard Sherman is never afraid to speak his mind. So last week when an imposter made a social media post under Sherman’s name, he used it as a teaching moment.
The post was made in reference to the Black Lives Matter movement. According to The Olympian, Sherman pleaded for these debates to not be divided along lines of color.
"You're categorized and people are racially profiling people, at the end of the day when we die and our skin decays our bones look the same,” Sherman told the media. “You can't tell if we were black, white, Asian, Latino. You don't know what they were," Sherman said. "This is a time to end that. Obviously I'm one person and there are other people out there speaking out against it but we do what we can."
Sherman has become the face of a star-studded “Legion of Boom” defense in Seattle. His profile exploded two seasons ago when the Seahawks went on to win Super Bowl XLVII.
Now in his fifth NFL season, Sherman has been named to two Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pro squads. He led the NFL in interceptions in 2013 and won NFC Defensive Player of the Year honors last season.
