Remember the Titans Coach Herman Boone Keynotes The Alliance for Women and Children Annual Luncheon

"Remember the Titans" is one of the most beloved football movies of all-time. One of the main subjects of the film, coach Herman Boone, has become a notable speaker ever since its release.

Last week, Boone spoke at The Alliance for Women and Children annual luncheon. The organization works with women and children in the Abilene, Texas area.

Boone talked about the impact that the Alliance had made. He also talked about teamwork and his own passion for helping others.

Boone is known for coaching the integrated football team at T.C. Williams High School. In 1971, he led the school to 13-0 record, a state championship and a runner-up national championship finish.

Boone originally began teaching and coaching at Luther H. Foster High School in 1958. He also coached at E.J. Hayes High School for nine years and recorded a 99-8 record.

Boone currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia and was the recipient of the Living Legends of Alexandria award in 2016. Each year, the Herman Boone Trophy is presented to the winner of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
