Olympic Silver Medal Swimmer Sharron Davies Speaks at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Awards

In November, Olympic medalist Sharron Davies will speak at an important event for sports in Great Britain.  She is the keynote speaker at the 15th annual Herefordshire & Worcestershire Sports Awards.  

The event will be held on November 9th at the Worcester Warriors Sixways Stadium.  It will celebrate outstanding athletic achievement that has taken place in the two counties. 

Nomimations for the awards are now open through September 25th.  There are also sponsorship packages currently available for organizations who would like to participate. 

Davies crowing achievement was her silver medal win in the 400-meter individual medley at the 1980 Olympics.  She also took two gold medals home at the 1978 Commonwealth Games. 

At the age of 11, Davies became the youngest swimmer to ever join Team GB.  Just two years later, she competed in her first Olympics.  

Over the corse of her career, Davies won 20 British championships and broke 200 national records.  She remains a prominent figure in the sport as a BBC commentator.
