Olympic Legend Carl Lewis Keynotes Track Football Consortium Next Month

A dream guest for any track and field event is Olympic legend, Carl Lewis. Next month, he will speak at the Illinois Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Track Football Consortium.

The event is being held December 8-9 at Benedictine's Goodwin Hall of Business in Lisle, Illinois. It is meant to be a strength and conditioning clinic for coaches.

Lewis is speaking twice and will address the relationship between speed and power. There will also be a panel discussion between football and track coaches.

As a nine-time gold medalist, Lewis is one of the most accomplished Olympians of all-time. He also captured ten World Championship medals.

Lewis is one of just three people to win a gold medal at four consecutive Olympics. He recorded 65 straight victories in the long jump.

Lewis still holds the record for the indoor long jump. He is a member of the Texas Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Hall of Fame.
