Olympic Champion Edwin Moses Speaks at University of West Georgia

The University of West Georgia's College of Education is excited to kick off their fourth annual Dan Folger Speaker Series: Critical Topics in Education next week. Olympic champion Edwin Moses is the speaker scheduled for next Tuesday.

Moses' presentation is titled, "The Power of Quantum Performance," and it takes place at 7 p.m. in the UWG Coliseum. He will also participate in an autograph signing following the event. 

Admission is free and doors open at 6 p.m. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance. 

Moses won gold medals at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics in the 400-meter hurdles. He dominated that event for a generation, winning 107 straight finals and 122 straight races from 1977-1987. 

Moses also set a world record in the 400 m hurdles four times. He won two World Championship gold medals and three IAAF World Cup titles. 

Moses is well-known as a vocal critic of the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports. He is chairman of The Laureus World Sport for Good Foundation.
