Olympic Bobsledder Johnny Quinn Keynotes Mental Health Symposium

Last Friday, Rome Memorial Hospital's Senior Behavioral Health Unit held their mental health symposium. The event featured keynote speaker, Team USA bobsledder Johnny Quinn

The symposium took place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vernon Downs Casino Hotel Conference Center. Several area healthcare providers, mental health professionals and members of the public were in attendance. 

The theme of the event was "Think Like An Olympian" and Quinn gave a presentation that was focused on mental health and health care. Registration was $125. 

Quinn competed for the United States at the 2014 Olympics. He came to the sport after a significant background playing football. 

Quinn was a star at the University of North Texas, where he set career records for receptions and receiving yards. He was a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference wide receiver. 

Quinn also won three Sun Belt titles with the Mean Green and was a member of the North Texas Hall of Fame. He spent time in the NFL and Canadian Football League before getting into bobsledding.
