North Carolina Football Coach Larry Fedora Speaks at Hall of Fame Event Next Month

For his success on the field, North Carolina coach Larry Fedora has become a big name in the state. Next month, he will be the speaker at the 52nd annual Cleveland County Sports Hall of Fame banquet.

The event will be held on May 9th at the Shelby City Park Gymnasium. It is sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and tickets are $10.

Three people will be inducted into the Hall of Fame and a host of other awards will be handed out. Most years, a notable sports figure serves as the guest speaker and Fedora is bound to provide some interesting commentary.

In five seasons with the Tar Heels, Fedora has compiled a 40-25 record. UNC went 11-3 with a perfect 8-0 record in the Atlantic Coast Conference en route to a final season ranking of 15th in 2015.

Prior to arriving in Chapel Hill, Fedora posted four years of winning records as the head coach at Southern Miss. The Golden Eagles captured a Conference-USA title in 2011 and finished ranked in the top 25.

Fedora was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State for three seasons before becoming a head coach. After beginning his coaching career at the high school level, he also had stops at Baylor, Air Force, Middle Tennessee and Florida.
