NFL Defensive End Chris Canty Holds Free Youth Camp at the End of June

Bronx native and NFL defensive end Chris Canty is giving back to his community.  At the end of June, he will host a free youth camp at George Washington High School in New York City.

The Chris Canty Camp of Champions runs June 30th-July 1st.  Each day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., campers will learn proper football fundamentals and important life skills.

Children from eight to 18 are welcome to register.  All applications are due in by June 25th.

Canty has spent the last three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and played 11 years in the NFL overall.  The most memorable time of his career however was spent with the New York Giants.

In 2011, Canty recorded a career high in sacks and tackles as the Giants went on to win Super Bowl XLVI.  He played his first four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys originally selected him in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Virginia.  As a junior, he was a second-team All-ACC pick for the Cavaliers.
