NFL Combine Star John Ross Signs Endorsement Deal with Nike

There is no denying the impact that John Ross' record-setting performance had at the NFL Combine this past week. As a result of his showing, Nike signed the speedster to an endorsement deal.

Despite an Adidas campaign that guaranteed anyone who broke the 40-yard dash time record at the Combine an island if they wore their shoes, Ross sported Nike cleats. The apparel brand was able to steal the show and now they are hoping their newest endorser will make his mark for an NFL team.

Ross is going to have ever opportunity to succeed. After last week, several outlets are projecting him to be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft.

Ross' 4.22 40-yard dash time bested the previous record of 4.24 set by Chris Johnson. To University of Washington fans, the speed he exhibited was no surprise.

As a junior Ross broke out, catching 76 passes for 1,122 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was a first-team All-Pac 12 selection and the Associated Press' Pac-12 Player of the Year.

Ross was instrumental to the Huskies run to the College Football Playoff. It was quite the comeback after he redshirted in 2015 following a torn ACL.

During his first two seasons at UW, Ross was known as a dangerous return man and big play wideout. He also started three games at cornerback as a sophomore.
