New Sacramento Kings Guard Frank Mason III Holds Autograph Signing in Kansas

While Frank Mason III has taken the next step of his career into the NBA, he took the time to interact with his college fanbase last week. On Friday, he held an autograph signing at Rally House/Kansas Sampler Oak Park.

He was there for an hour and took photos and chatted with fans in addition to signing. Mason III also capitalized on his newfound celebrity by shooting a commercial in the morning for the Lawrence-based Crown Automotive.

The following day, Mason III made another in-state appearance by throwing out the first pitch at Kauffman Stadium prior to a game between the Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins. He will step onto the court officially as a pro this week with the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

The Sacramento Kings recently made Mason III their second round pick in the NBA Draft. He had a banner senior season at the University of Kansas, where he picked up several national college player of the year awards.

Mason III averaged 20.9 points, 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game during his final season. He was also a consensus first-team All-American and the Big 12 Player of the Year.

Before his senior campaign, Mason III was a two-time All-Big 12 second-team selection. He also competed in the World University Games during his time at Kansas.
