New LSU Basketball Coach Will Wade Speaks at Louisiana Coaching Clinic Next Month

New LSU basketball coach Will Wade is getting right to work familiarizing himself with the state of Louisiana. In just a few weeks, he will speak at The Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches coaching clinic.

High school coaches from across the state will pour in to hear from Wade and other experts. The event takes place on May 13th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LSU's practice facility.

The cost to attend the camp is $15 for one coach and then $10 for each subsequent coach from the same high school. Snacks and lunch are also covered by the fee.

Wade has had great success during his stops as a head coach at Chattanooga and VCU. He led the Rams to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and an Atlantic 10 regular season title in 2016.

Prior to his two years at VCU, Wade coached the Mocs for a pair of seasons. They posted consecutive second place finishes in the Southern Conference and he was named SoCon Coach of the Year in 2014.

Wade had apprenticeships as an assistant under Tommy Amaker at Harvard and Shaka Smart at VCU. He began his career in college basketball as a student manager at Clemson before becoming a graduate assistant and then director of basketball operations for the Tigers program.
