New FAU Football Coach Lane Kiffin Keynotes South Palm Beach County Jewish Federation Men’s Night Out

FAU football coach Lane Kiffin knows the uphill climb he has to build local interest around his program. He has been making the rounds since being hired trying to engage alumni and fans alike.

On Tuesday, he was back at it as the keynote speaker at the South Palm Beach County Jewish Federation Men Nights' Out. The event was held at FAU Stadium.

Kiffin was able to address the crowd of around 100 people about the energy he is trying to create at FAU. Previous speakers for the foundation include ex-NFL standouts with ties to South Florida like Cris Carter and Jason Taylor

After three years as the offensive coordinator at Alabama, Kiffin was named FAU's new head coach this winter. He helped the Crimson Tide win three SEC championships and was a finalist for the Broyles Award in 2014.

Kiffin was the head coach at the University of Southern California for four seasons and guided them to a 10-2 campaign in 2011. He came back to the college head coaching ranks at Tennessee, where he spent one year after serving as head coach of the Oakland Raiders during parts of two seasons.

Kiffin built his coaching reputation while on Pete Carroll's staff at USC from 2001-06. He started his coaching career at his alma mater, Fresno State, in 1997.
