One of the most powerful individuals at the NCAA spoke at an event today not far from organization headquarters in Indianapolis.  The NCAA's Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Oliver Luck, was the featured presenter at the Evansville Downtown Quarterback Club. 

The event ran from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Red Cross headquarters.  Each Monday, the group meets to network and talk about football.  

Those who attend the meetings can pay $12 for lunch.  Luck was able to share fun tales from his football career and also talk about his son Andrew who plays for the Indianapolis Colts. 

Luck joined the NCAA in the newly-created position in 2014.  Prior to his current role, he was the director of athletics and associate vice president at West Virginia University.  

While at WVU, Luck helped the program usher their way from the Big East Conference to the Big 12 Conference.  He was also a member of the inaugural College Football Playoff committee. 

Luck got his start in sports business as an executive with the NFL.  He played quarterback for five years in the league and was a three-year starter at the position for West Virginia.
