The Carroll College men's basketball team has lured a big name from their sport to speak at their annual fundraising banquet. Former NBA head coach Jeff Van Gundy is slated to present at the event on September 22nd. 

The banquet is being presented by First Interstate Bank at the STAC Dining Hall at 5:30 p.m. Individual tickets are $50 and couples are $90. 

Van Gundy is excited about the opportunity to travel to Montana. He is also looking forward to picking head coach Carson Cunningham's brain about his success at Carroll. 

Van Gundy was an NBA head coach for 11 seasons with the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. His teams have made the playoffs on nine occasions and he led the Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1999. 

Prior to jumping into the NBA, Van Gundy was an assistant coach at Providence and Rutgers. Before becoming the head coach in New York, he was an assistant on the staff from 1989-1996. 

Van Gundy is currently the top NBA analyst for ABC/ESPN. His brother, Stan, is currently the head coach and president of basketball operations for the Detroit Pistons.
