Legendary Quarterback Phil Simms Speaks at Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Dinner

Former New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms is still a big name across the state. On April 24th, he will be in the Southern Tier as the speaker at the Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame Induction Dinner.

Simms is replacing former New York Mets pitcher Ron Darling as speaker. The Hall of Fame has been trying to get him to come speak for several years.

The third annual event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton. Festivities begin with a cash bar at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and individual tickets are $65.

Simms played his entire 14-year career with the Giants and won two Super Bowls. He set a Super Bowl record by completing 88 percent of his passes in Super Bowl XXI on the way to Most Valuable Player honors.

Simms was a two-time Pro Bowler and one-time first-team All-Pro. For his career, he totaled over 33,000 passing yards and is a member of the Giants Ring of Honor.

The franchise has also retired Simms #11 jersey. Today, he is part of CBS Sports' lead NFL broadcast team along with play-by-play partner Jim Nantz
